Harold Elston is a graduate of the School of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Waterloo and holds an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from that University. Upon his graduation as a planner, Harold worked as a consultant for what is now PriceWaterhouseCoopers, earned his membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners, and became a Registered Professional Planner. Harold graduated from the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University in 1986 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1988.
Harold appears as counsel before many of the Province’s administrative law tribunals, most regularly the Ontario Municipal Board, where he has conducted hundreds of cases. His administrative law work is supplemented by a litigation practice that has seen him appear as counsel before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, as well as the Walkerton Inquiry.
Harold demonstrates an ability to consistently deliver excellent, results-oriented legal services, in a client-respectful and collegial way. Harold understands not only the law and practice in his area, but also the context in which his clients, as public-sector decision makers, serve.
